My Name is Crohn's -- Err, Sarah

It's easy to let our disease define us, isn't it?  Just the other day, in the blink of my nurse's eye for a doctor's visit I became a list of my medications stumbled over while updating my file.  Then ordering dinner the other night, I became the "high maintenance" one.  From family outings to hospital stays, eating out to adapting family meals in, living with Crohn's/IBD is a constant reminder that we're different.

You are not your disease.

Let me repeat that.

You are NOT your disease.

I'm a wife, daughter, sister, auntie, avid traveler, bibliophile, yogi, blogger, Christ-follower, and Tar Heel fan whose favorite color is Carolina blue!   I also happen to have Crohn's Disease, but I'm done with the days of letting it define me, or even make the Top 10 descriptors of me list.

Some days my disease takes over everything, and I'm forced to adapt my best-laid plans.  I never feel of a "normal" energy level.  Having been diagnosed…
